British mining firm Kavango Resources is ramping up its gold production strategy in Zimbabwe, focusing on fast-tracking development of known mining areas to generate quick returns, according to CEO Matthew Turney.

Strategic Expansion and Listing Plans

The London Stock Exchange-listed company is preparing for a secondary listing on Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) this month, aiming to raise US$13.5 million for local mining exploration initiatives. This expansion follows promising results at their Bill's Luck Gold Mine, where recent drilling revealed impressive gold grades of 11.79 grammes per tonne.

Accelerated Production Timeline

Kavango's strategic approach focuses on rapid development cycles, targeting initial three-year mineable resources with ambitious 18-month payback periods. This aggressive timeline demonstrates the company's commitment to maintaining strong economic performance in the African mining sector.

Production Scaling Plans

The company has outlined an ambitious scaling strategy at Bill's Luck, with plans to implement a 200-tonnes-per-day production plant. This development aims to reach 250 tonnes per day by the first half of 2026, showcasing the kind of strategic infrastructure investment that's transforming African mining operations.

"Kavango's strategy in Zimbabwe is to discover new gold mines, in known producing areas, and bring these into production as quickly as we can," states CEO Matthew Turney.

Future Growth Potential

The company's current drilling campaign at Bill's Luck aims to establish a robust three-year production pipeline, with potential for significant expansion beyond the initial resource estimates. This includes exploration of additional ore shoots at Roscor and West Shaft locations.
