In a significant development for Namibia's legal sector, Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) has announced a major transformation of its Namibian operations, with prominent legal experts Patrick Kauta, Frieda Kishi, Magano Erkana, and Mercy Kuzeeko joining the firm's leadership team.

Strategic Leadership Transformation

Effective September 1, Patrick Kauta will assume the role of managing partner at CDH Namibia, bringing extensive expertise that aligns with Namibia's ambitious economic development goals. The firm, currently operating as Barendse Inc, will be rebranded as Kauta Barendse & Kishi Inc, subject to regulatory approval.

Enhanced Legal Capabilities

The expansion demonstrates CDH's commitment to strengthening its presence in the region, following Namibia's growing prominence in various sectors. The firm's enhanced capabilities will support:

  • Broader sector expertise across multiple industries
  • Improved legal service delivery
  • Enhanced regional integration
  • Local empowerment initiatives

Professional Excellence and Experience

The new leadership team brings impressive credentials. Kauta, previously with Dr Weder, Kauta & Hoveka Inc (WKH), has held significant board positions at Old Mutual Namibia and various sports organizations. Kishi, with over 25 years of experience, brings valuable expertise from roles at major national institutions.

This transformation reflects Namibia's broader vision for economic growth and development, positioning the firm to better serve clients across the African continent while maintaining strong local roots.
