SWAKOPMUND, 03 SEP - Namibia has emerged as a frontrunner in African governance reform, earning commendation for its pioneering role in implementing the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Governance Index. The recognition comes as Namibia continues to strengthen its governance frameworks for sustainable development.
Leadership in Governance Reform
The APRM, established in 2003 under the African Union's New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), serves as a voluntary assessment tool for African nations to evaluate governance practices and share reforms. Namibia's proactive approach aligns with its broader vision of pioneering innovative development initiatives across the continent.
Strategic Implementation
A three-day National Dialogue and Data Validation Workshop opened in Swakopmund, bringing together key stakeholders including:
