Zimbabwe and Namibia cricket teams prepare for crucial T20 series at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo

Zimbabwe is set to host Namibia for a pivotal three-match T20 series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo from September 15-18, marking a crucial preparation phase for both teams ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.

Strategic Preparation for World Cup Qualification

The series, which will be free for spectators, comes at a critical time as both Zimbabwe and Namibia prepare for their crucial qualifier campaign. Zimbabwe will field the same squad that recently showed impressive form against Sri Lanka at Harare Sports Club.

"We need to build on the positives from the Sri Lanka series. Namibia will provide exactly the kind of challenge we need before the qualifier," stated head coach Justin Sammons. "They're an excellent team with consistent performance in this format."

Qualification Stakes

Both nations are among eight teams competing in the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier, scheduled for September 26 to October 4 in Harare. The top two teams will secure direct qualification for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe's Quest for Redemption

After missing out on the 2024 World Cup qualification, where Namibia successfully secured their spot, Zimbabwe is determined to reclaim their position in international cricket's premier tournament. Their last World Cup appearance was in Australia in 2022.
